costume

 

For our costume we have character 1 dress as a surgeon since that's what the actor gonna be played as, and in the opening film he will keep the same outfit for a couple of days as he is losing his mind with a feeling of lost and he just realized what he did. For character 2 it will be the patient who is the surgeon will be operating most of the parts will not be shown except his part of his head. The last character will be a relative who will take revenge against the surgeon who was too late to realize he murdered the patient.

Preparing to film

 Our opening film will be about a horror genre, where a surgeon has lost his mind. I think the challenging part of the film will be the preparation and recording within the location, also since its a medical theme we need to set up the props just like how would they do it in a surgery room. Our location  will be in the woods and inside a surgery room. The script will have mostly monologue of the character talking/having an inner monologue to himself. As for the costumes mostly gown for the surgeon and civilian. For our actors William will be the surgeon, Janelle is the nurse and me Miles will be the patient-relative who takes the matters into his own hands. As for our props  (baseball bat, blue cloth/paper to cover parts of the patient and background in surgery, toy drill).

Mostly during our study hall, our class and outside of school for the wood scene, starting next week.

Mood board film opening

 

For my mood board I'm trying to capture the essence of the overall feeling of the film where as you can see it has this low-key lighting that makes you feel a sense of danger that you are not safe, I choose this images because I think they go well with what the film is about as for the setting I chose this as it is where most of the film will be shot/recorded. And lastly the costumes and the props this is just an example of what we are gonna use for the film since its based on a surgeon and on a hospital setting.

This film openings, have a very good openings with panning movements, handheld movements, also close up shots was done very good showing small details, and the music add a sense of thrill/excitement. Also toward at the end of the film the music was turn off as if something happened and where they opened the trunk their expression showed disgust as if something reeks inside the car which leaves a sense of mysterious.

The film opening, starts with a dialogue where a young man having a dialogue with his therapist and throughout the film they have straight cuts, over the shoulder shots, and and towards the end of the film the young man actions start to get heightened, they use good technical films but the execution could have been better.

The use of focus full, and depth of field was very well done throughout the film where its goes back and forth where some shots are in focus or out of focus like where it focus on her face then switch back to the trees. The technical elements was very well done.

The use of lighting is very good adding a scary vibe that someone or something is being experimented on, with the diegetic sound, the use of close up shots make for an eerie mood, the use of zoom at the end was very well done to add to a sense of uneasy feeling.

The film did not use many technical elements mostly straight cuts, during the car scene they could have used heightened sounds/effect like the sound of car handle, her having an un-easy feeling, the way the films ends was not done very well it just cut off when she was in the car rushing to get in.

The film does not make sense to me because its feels like there are no connection or at least its not being describe or show in the film if the painting relates to the lady but how, its just straight cut, the film needs more connection.

First of all the music fit the film opening very well, also the tracking shot added more meaning when the athlete was doing his warm ups, there was use of over the shoulder short, closeup, and in the end where they both stare into each other as if they were rivals overall the film was very good especially the use of music.

The film use a J cut, where a girl runs away from her home, the light has a soft lighting, and I feel like there is too much monologue throughout the opening film they used too much when its just supposed to be an introduction.
